Partnership Announcement

Satellite services at The Hope Centre to start in July

The Hope Centre is excited to announce a partnership with Niagara Community Legal Clinic to offer bi-weekly appointments for legal assistance to clients of the Welland organization. Clinics will be held on the second and fourth Mondays monthly on-site at the community hub, and will provide assistance in several areas of law including landlord/tenant issues, ODSP applications and appeals, and employment and human rights.

'As a Community Hub, we work hard to find programs and services that would be of benefit to the hundreds of individuals and families that turn to The Hope Centre weekly. Our recent strategic plan identified some specific services that we hope to build into The Hub. Legal assistance was high on that list, and we are so pleased to partner with Niagara Community Legal Clinic to be able to offer these services under our roof’ explained Jon Braithwaite, CEO of The Hope Centre.

Aidan Johnson, Executive Director of Niagara Community Legal Clinic, echoed the comments of Hope Centre staff, saying that ‘Our Niagara Community Legal Clinic is looking forward to partnering with the caring and compassionate staff at The Hope Centre.’

Appointments will start on July 8th from 1-4 pm, and continue every second and fourth Monday of every month. Clients can set up appointments by connecting directly with the Niagara Community Legal Clinic at (905) 682-6635, or by connecting with their Hope Centre Community Coach.

In addition to the Legal Clinics, The Hope Centre also provides a food bank, a daily community lunch program, housing support, utility assistance, and counseling services. Community partners located within The Hope Centre Community Hub include CASON, Canadian Mental Health Association, YWCA programming, OATC, and District School Board of Niagara programs.
