The holiday season is a magical time of year, but for some members of our community, it is a time of struggle. For these individuals and families, this time of year means harsh temperatures and adversity rather than joy.
The looming choice to heat their home or provide food for their family is imminent, and as the cost of living and other factors continue to place people in impossible scenarios like this, the use of our services inevitably increases.
More and more families rely on the programs offered at The Hope Centre to help them bridge the gap until their next income source comes in. We help put food on the table, provide utility support services and warm winter clothing to help ease the pressure of the season. Last year The Hope Centre distributed over 120,000 pounds of food, served over 17,000 hot meals and supported over 800 individuals and families throughout the holidays.
We cannot do this alone.
It is only through dedicated donors like you that we are able to continue to provide the essential programs and services that allow a family to have a holiday meal and provide their children with a safe warm place to lay their heads at night.
Everyone deserves to feel the joy of Christmas. When you donate this holiday season you are giving the greatest gift of all, you’re giving hope.
