How We Help

Hope House: Emergency Hostel

  • 24 hours emergency shelter facility with 8 single units for men, 7 single units for women, 2 self-contained apartments for families, 7-bed dormitory
  • All meals and nutritious snacks served daily; Food and housekeeping services provided in collaboration with hostel guests

Hope Kitchen

Hope Kitchen
  • Lunch is served at noon 5 days a week (except holidays) to individuals and families, including Hope House guests
  • Adult drop in –morning fellowship (tea, coffee and snacks are served), outreach, support and information sharing

Hope Pantry

Hope Pantry

Supplementary groceries, including dairy products, to registered members once per month. However, anyone can visit our Hope Kitchen weekly for items that have a short shelf life – breads and produce. Supply will depend on donated products received.

Housing Stabilization Program

  • Help tenants find and keep affordable housing
  • Providing information and helping clients with life skills management and emotional support
  • Mediation and liaison with landlords and community service providers
  • Available and affordable housing registry
  • Advocate for more affordable housing and addressing housing needs

Community Coach Program

  • Assist in securing housing
  • Mediating and liason with community service providers and landlords
  • Offering one on one life skills and emotional support
  • Assist with setting goals and working through the steps of realization
  • Providing one on one support to guests at the Hope House
  • Offering support to all people in our community

Utility Program

  • Assistance with preventing disconnection of heat and hydro

Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS)

  • Delivered by the Niagara Catholic District School Board
  • On-site classroom - assists students with achieving short term goals as they move toward further training, employment, and independence

Volunteer Training & Leadership Development

  • Pre-employment training and support
  • On-the-job training and support provided in food and administration services

Coats for Kids and Families

  • Provides donated winter apparel to children and adults

Christmas Baskets

  • Provided to individuals and families to help them celebrate Christmas

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities

Jump Start
  • Funded by Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities – helps kids in financial need participate in organized sports and recreation

Kacey Lynn Fund

  • Provides financial assistance to eligible families with children up to age 18 in need of health and dental expenses no covered by their health benefits
