Community Garden

The Hope Community garden is located behind Niagara Region children's Safety Village at Niagara College, Welland.

There are two big communal plots (15' x 28' each) where we plant beans, carrots, beets, tomatoes, peppers, etc. The harvest from the community garden provides fresh vegetables to the food bank and kitchen at The Hope Centre. Twenty-four plots (5' x 10'each) are available for anyone interested in growing vegetables for their own consumption with surplus harvest donated to The Hope Centre. Participants have to agree to maintain their own garden as well as help in the community garden. Participants are also expected to help with the two clean ups – in Spring and Fall. Registration is for each planting season. For more information, please contact:

For others in the community, we would like their support in "Plant A Row, Grow A Row". Plan an extra row of vegetables in your garden and donate them to your local food bank.
