Kacey Lynn Fund
Kacey Lynn was a five year old girl who battled cancer for four and one-half years. She died at McMaster Hospital in June, 1988. The financial hardship this illness placed on this family brought to the attention of the community the need for a program to help with these multiple hardships.

In 1995 a Trust Fund was established in Kacey-Lynn's name to assist her family and other low income families in Welland, Port Colborne and Pelham.

This program has expanded and now families with sick or disabled children in all other areas in the Niagara Region can receive assistance. The HOPE Centre administers this fund for the community.

Funds for the program are made possible through local fundraisers held during the year. The Kacey Lynn Jamboree is the major fundraiser and it has now become an annual event.

The Kacey-Lynn Committee is also moving in other directions through its assistance for prevention and recreational programs for "well" children.  As you can imagine there are certain conditions that must be met in order to get assistance:

  • Families must be low income Children must aged between 0-18 years
  • Costs must not be provided by another agency
  • Requests must be submitted in writing

If you or someone you know is in need of this kind of assistance or if you wish to donate please call 905-788-0744 for details and assistance.
